:::History

Mrs. Golino earned her 1st degree black belt in 1985 at the young age of 14 and has had a passion for teaching original Taekwon-Do to anyone who has been willing to learn ever since. She has never operated as what many may deem a "full-time" instructor of the arts. Taekwon-Do is her passion, her life, however she has chosen to instruct and treat her own training as a "hobby". This hobby of hers has been ongoing for nearly 26 years!

She has competed in many national and international competitions and has won many awards. Mrs. Golino has studied under the absolute best Masters and Grand Masters in the industry and continues to further educate and enhance her vast knowledge of Taekwon-Do and Self Defense.

Mrs. Golino's own school, Eastern Taekwon-Do in Monroe, CT, operated from 1997-2005. After three homes, two businesses and two children, she decided to sell in 2005. Pressure also came from competing with cookie-cutter, imitator and commercialized Taekwon-Do schools. Mrs. Golino simply never wished for her hobby to turn into a commercial business. This need for commercialism, combined with her home life lead to a a disinterest in maintaining her own, full-time, martial arts school. She now rents space at the Reda Plaza in Monroe, CT from the Dance Workshop and instructs classes weekly.

Mrs. Golino and her husband, Mark, successfully operate a server hosting and document management technology company located in Waterbury, CT. (www.mscript.com). The husband and wife team has been self-employed since the mid 90's. Mr. Golino is a recipient of the Harold Webster Bank "Entrepreneur of the Year" Award and the prestigious CT Business "Forty Under 40" Award. They have three children and are looking forward to having many more over the next 10 years.

Today, Mrs. Golino instructs ITF-Taekwon-Do sessions and self-defense seminars in the Reda Plaza at 483 Monroe Turnpike. Her passion for teaching world-class Taekwon-Do as it was meant to be taught by its creator, General Choi Hong Hi, is still just as strong as it was in the 1980's. Space is limited, but please call 203-768-6162 to discuss or drop by during class hours to view her classes first hand.
